Experience CURE8 Cambridge: an evening of independent and interdependent dance curated by Alexandria Nunweiler & Ashlea Sovetts featuring work by The Click, Decent Dance, Rachel Linsky, and the curators themselves. Encompassing multifaceted performers, projects and punchlines, the show uplifts emerging artists in the area and highlights how collaboration weaves itself into exciting art. Supported by the South Carolina Arts Commission, Alternate Roots, the Andrew W. Mellon foundation.

6/14 - 6/21: 10 Recalling-20 Residency with collaborator Alexandria Nunweiler in Greenville, SC
Ashlea is apart of the inaugural class of #SCartists selected for the South Carolina Arts Commission’s new Emerging Artist Grant. This diverse group works in different disciplines, but is unified in its desire to learn from one another and grow as artists. Ashlea and colleague Allie Nunweiler are collaborating to use this grant for their project 10 Recalling-20. The collaborators interviewed 10 individuals about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and translate these experiences into movement.
This virtual dance series helped students to explore movement through contemporary ballet and improvisation practices. During classes, we developed improvisational ideas on the solo body while simultaneously moving through structured ballet sequences.
